How To Avoid Coronavirus: You Can Kick Their Balls, But Don’t Touch Them
Okay… this is not from the ITF. It’s not even from the USTA. But it’s just… it’s just too much not to share.
In a recent presser, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran discussed how the Long Island county was going to handle the reopening of its tennis courts amid the pandemic. She announced that there would be new safety rules and guidelines in place, many of which pertained to players’ balls. Tennis balls… we think.
A brief summary:
- Unless you’re from the same family, don’t touch someone else’s balls.
- You can, however, kick their balls.
- It’s very important not to confuse your balls with someone else’s.
That said, please handle your balls safely ??
4.5 USTA rated/open champion level tennis player, vegan, fitness freak, animal lover, and smart ass who firmly believes that champagne is anathema for all ills. Right now I'm either up to my eyeballs in paint swatches and fabric samples, or kicking some butt on a tennis court (hopefully the latter).
